Hunger is an appalling problem faced by many developing nations, but the scale of this problem becomes multiple folds when it comes to India.

Surveys point out that, there are more than 25+ Million Homeless Orphan children roaming the streets of India. Also, 18+ Million Elderly people are left on the streets with no one but them to take care of themselves. Together this accounts for more than 5% of the Indian population and is growing at a steady pace.

Most of these people are completely undernourished and battle hunger every single day. If left as such, these people either die of hunger on the streets or adopt radical immoral measures to satisfy their needs. Hence it is a dire need for us to save them from this horrible situation and make efforts to uplift them into functional individuals of the country.

What is UNAVALITHAL?

“Unavalithal” is a food distribution project started by our Nourishment for Needy Volunteers in 2019 with the purpose of lending a hand to these homeless people to battle their daily hunger battles. We started really small by distributing 10 to 20 meals to the homeless people in our nearby locality. But soon, with the help of our volunteers and with donations from generous individuals, the project grew rapidly. Today we serve more than 3000+ meals per week to homeless people all around the city.

With Nourishment for Needy, “Univalithal” also gained popularity among donors as more and more people wanted to contribute towards feeding fellow people. Hence, with the contribution of our donors, we expanded our reach and partnered with several other organisations like old age homes, orphanages, special schools etc. and support them with the required funding for their food and grocery needs.

All the needs of the Elders and Children, under the care of these orphanages and homes, are met from the financial assistance and donations provided by countless generous individuals all over the country, for which we are forever grateful.

At Nourishment for the Needy, we believe that everyone deserves access to nutritious and healthy food, regardless of their circumstances. That's why we're committed to providing essential meals to those in need. Our organization supports multiple orphanages for children and homes for the elderly, as well as providing food to the homeless all over India.

How can you help?

As a Donor, you can contribute by offering donations to the Unavalithal fund, which will be used for feeding the homeless, orphanages and our elderly homes.

You can also make specific donations that cater to a specific need, such as:

• Sponsoring 100 Meals for the Homeless.
• Supporting Meals for an entire day for 100 Homeless people.
• Sponsoring either (BF/ Lunch/Dinner) for Partnered Orphanages/Elderly Homes.
• Sponsoring food for an entire day (BF + Lunch + Snacks + Dinner) for our Partnered Orphanages/Elderly Homes.
